Afrigo Band is set to release an 11-truck album after 10 years of no-new music.

The band has been in existence for over 40 years, but unlike artistes and bands that come and go, or music that make hits for a month and fade after, Afrigo Band has stood the test of time, releasing over 100 hits that are enjoyed by all age groups.

To add on their timeless songs such as Nantongo, Obangaina, Speed, Maria, Olumbe lw’obwavu among others, the band has been busy in studio.

Dubbed ‘Teri Mubi’, this album will feature new and old songs that have been re-mastered and will officially be launched in a glamorous event at in Kampala on October 11.

Moses Matovu, one of the band’s founders noted that this album will feature their collaboration with singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone, who he believes has contributed positively to Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Matovu also revealed that ‘Teli Mubi’ album was produced by Vincent Othieno, a Kenyan based producer, who has worked with the band for a long time.

“The sound people have grown to love is still prominent, but on this particular album, it is refined, probably because of the always improving techniques. However not forgetting the sound that made Afrigo a name to reckon with,” he said.

This band comprises Joanita Kawalya, Moses Matovu, Rachael Magoola, Herman Ssewanyana, Joe Tabula among others.
