The introduction ceremony of singer Rema Namakula with her new husband Dr Hamza Sebunya is going to cost Shs200 milllion, Watchdog has learnt.
The introduction ceremony is scheduled to take on November 14, 2019.
Rema dumped fellow musician Eddy Kenzo late last month after spending over five years in an estranged marriage. The ex-couple has a daughter together.
According to the chairperson organizing committee Hajj Isa Musoke, the budget is likely to increase or decrease depending on the services which are going to be offered at the colorful ceremony.
He told a local daily on Tuesday that they have put in place sub committees responsible for food, entertainment, and bridal wears among others and after drafting their budgets they will put them together for proper accountability.
“Rema is among the best musicians we have in the country and she deserves to have all the best on her day that is why she is investing all that money in the ceremony,” he said.
Hajj Musoke further revealed that the ‘Siri Muyembe’ singer is already in Turkey for shopping.
“We shall not be asking for contributions from friends but we shall organize meetings for plannings.”
