Twitter woes: Museveni unfollows Chameleone as Captain Mukula gets bashing

President Museveni has, over the years, been following two Ugandan artistes – Bebe Cool and Jose Chameleone.

However, just recently, the President decided to unfollow Chameleone or is it Joseph Mayanja.

Ofcourse Tweeps couldn’t miss the opportunity to draw to conclusions, alleging that that the mateeka singer got un-followed because of his move to join politics, more so as an opposition leaning candidate. Others claimed that his recent closeness to the Kyadondo East legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine possibly caused the fall out.

My advise to my good friend chameleon is go slow on politics it will erode your financial base and could ruin your entertainment career >>>don’t say I didn’t advise you , take or leave it experience has taught me 🙏🏾 @JChameleone

— Mukula (@Mukulaa) June 4, 2019

Given the alarming gossip on twitter, Captain Mike Mukula (@Mukulaa) hit his social media platform to warn the self-titled doctor to go slow on politics for it might mess his music career and financial base.

“My advice to my good friend Chameleone is go slow on politics, it will erode your financial base and could ruin your entertainment …don’t say I didn’t advise you, take or leave it, experience has taught me” Mukula tweeted.

However Chameleone acted not shaken, as he assured Capt Mukula that he is ready to take on whatever comes his way, but not ready to give on politics.

“Thank you my great friend, ‘Great men pave way for greater men’ now that they didn’t, we shall pave our own way and for greater men after us” Chameleone responded.

Others soon joined in to support Chameleone, who has shown his intention to stand for the post of Kampala Lord Mayor.

Sober Muzzukulu‏ @stevekizire  said: Thanks @Mukulaa for being honest that in Uganda opposing the NRM govt means destroying one’s financial base and career like it’s the case with @HEBobiwine. We are a politically intolerant bunch of citizens.

hamoudmohammed‏ @hamoudmohammed2: Cowardness just. First give the same advice to the likes of Judith Babirye, Raga D or maybe plus Bebe Cool. Then you can have the morals of talking about Jose. Leadership is all about influence in the 21st century. If Camili can influence some youths, then he’ll make a good leader.

These people think Leadership was blessed to a few of them. Great men are those who pave way for the men after them.

— JOSE CHAMELEONE (@JChameleone) June 5, 2019

MorganTheLiberal‏ @apollo_morgan: Mike this is the problem with governments in Africa. Dissenters’ families and businesses must not suffer for political stands. That’s a bad way of governing. People’s businesses and trades must thrive freely regardless of political opinions. U owe Ugandans an apology for this.
