Second Chance as Nalubega, Maddox and Angella Kalule gear up for ‘Tugende Mukikadde’

The third edition of oldies event ‘Tugende Mukikadde’ returns on May 4, 2019 at Kampala Serena Hotel, with a stellar lineup of artistes that ruled the charts in years gone by.

Kadongo Kamu maestro Willy Mukabya, songbird Angella Kalule, and Betty Mpologoma will grace teh event for the first time while legends Maddox Sematimba and Chance Nalubega will be making a return.

According to Sprout Africa Limited, the official organizers of Tugende Mukikade, this concept was established three years ago as a way of appreciating and celebrating the life of legendary artistes who dominated the music industry in Uganda since 1970.

During a press event, Kalule said that this show will be a musical journey that will take Ugandan music lovers ‘back to the roots of our local music’.

“This show will give us the opportunity to enjoy some of the best Ugandan classical music, performed by musicians who people grew up listening to. These icons set the stage for what we now see as the different Ugandan musical genres. It’s a pleasure for me to be part of this lovely event, and it’s an honor that I will also share stage with Uganda’s legendary artistes,” said Kalule.

According to organizers, this event will start with a red carpet experience that will see party people dressed in Vintage wear to suit the event theme, and tickets will go for Shs100,000 VIP, three millions for VVIP tables.
