Uganda’s teenager makes it to Forbes most influential 30 young people

Uganda teen actor Madina Nalwanga has been named among the 30 most influential young celebrities.

Nalwanga who made a breakthrough after featuring in a famous Hollywood movie dubbed ‘Queen of Katwe’ managed to make it among the 30 influential youngsters in the celebrities section  in Forbes 2018 edition of 30 Under 30.

Forbes 30 Under 30 is an annual encyclopedia of creative disruption featuring 600 young stars in 20 different industries.

Nalwanga was discovered by a casting director in a community dance class before landing her lead role in Disney’s “Queen of Katwe.”

The talented star has so far received numerous accolades for her acting debut, including an NAACP Image Award, a Women Film Critics Circle Award and Critics Choice Award nominations.
