Court orders Bank of Uganda, A Plus to open Ivan Semwanga’s grave to remove the buried millions of cash

Since Tuesday when fallen tycoon Ivan Semwanga was buried with millions of cash at his ancestral village in Kayunga District, a section of lawyers came out to condemn the act saying it was against the constitution of Uganda and they demanded that the late’s body must be exhumed so that to rescue the buried money.

Now the High Court of Uganda has ordered Bank of Uganda and  A Plus Funeral Management Company Limited which worked on the burial ceremony of Semwanga to open up the grave to remove money he was buried with in order to go back into circulation.

According to the notice of motion from the High Court of Uganda, all the currencies of Uganda shillings, South Africa rands and United States dollars or any other currency placed in the grave and buried along with the late Semwanga’s body should be removed by ordering the respondents to exhume the said late for purposes of respecting currency of Uganda and other countries.

The court has further ordered that the applicant a one Mgugu Abey to be allowed recover all the said monies on behalf of the Republic of Uganda and other respective countries.
