FUFA boss Magogo replies to Saturday Monitor’s Cranes attack, ‘you’re being used’

The Federation of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) president Moses Magogo has responded to Saturday Monitor’s attack on Uganda Cranes.

An article published by Monitor newspaper on Saturday alleged that greed, sex, money broke down Cranes in African Cup of Nations in Gabon and that’s why it failed to perform to Ugandans expectations.

“Money, sex, and downright arrogance were the things Ugandans watching the games did not see on the television
screens but were bubbling in the camp with at least six players engaging in a sex orgy after they reportedly smuggled one prostitute into the camp,” the article partly read.

But according to Magogo, the Saturday Monitor publication is the first shot to attempt fail Uganda Cranes to qualify for 2019.

He says the public is being targeted to disown the players who are being setup against the Coach Micho and against FUFA.

“There is an attempt by selfish forces to conspire to bring down the individual of the FUFA president at the expense of the success football has registered,” Angry Magogo noted.

“Football should be protected jealously and the institutions of FUFA and Uganda Cranes are bigger than the individuals therein currently. Persons will change naturally but the institutions should be protected. New persons (Administrators, Coaches and Players) should build on bigger and stronger foundation of thier predecessors,” he added.

The FUFA boss further alleges that there are also recently efforts to separate the Uganda Cranes from FUFA.

“The fact is that it is FUFA that has brought the team to where it is. We worked on the little details that had always failed us. We have the experience. Football success and failure is more than the players, the coaches, the doctors, the logistics team etc,” Magogo stated.
