The sub counties that benefited from the program includes Agengo sub county, Omot sub county, Ajali S/C, Laperebong S/C, Adilang Sub county and Lira palwo sub county among others.

While officiating the project, the Agago Deputy Resident District Commissioner Cosmas James Okidi applauded land owners for donating their land for the ponds. He urged them to preserve the ponds well for future generations.

Communities also expressed their gratitude saying they are now relieved from trekking long distances looking for water for their animals.

“These water ponds are yours and must be managed well for your animals as well as growing vegetables and tomatoes etc for income generation,” said Okidi.

The project Engineer Kennedy Okello lauded President Yoweri Museveni for providing peaceful environment that have enabled them to execute their projects.

“The enabling environment provided by President Museveni’s government has helped us to construct these water ponds for communities,”he said.
