President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has renewed the contract of Hajji Yunus Kakande as Secretary-Office of the President.

This has been confirmed by the Office of the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, the overall supervisor of Permanent Secretaries.

The new contract means Hajji Kakande will continue serving as the Office of the President’s Accounting Officer for the next three (3) years.

President Museveni first appointed Hajji Kakande as Secretary Office of the President in 2018 and this will be his third term serving under that docket.

Prior, the experienced Hajji Kakande served as Undersecretary-Office of the President before he was elevated to his current position. He replaced Ms. Deborah Katuramu who was elevated to the position of Deputy Head of Public Service and Deputy Secretary to Cabinet.

Hajji Kakande is one of the longest serving civil servants in the country who have served with utmost integrity.
