Hundreds of National Resistance Movement –NRM youth Leaders and Residents in Kigezi on Friday evening gathered in Rubanda District to celebrate the 48th Birthday of Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Senior Presidential Advisor on special operations and UPDF Commander of Land Forces.

Gen Muhoozi officially turns 48 years today Sunday 24th April.

The pre-birthday fete was held at Volcano Hotel Rubanda Town Council Rubanda District and it was organized by Friends of MK in Kigezi.

Wilfred Arinda Nsheeka, the Organizing Committee Chairperson for the party who is also the Rubanda District Youth male councilor revealed that the funds that catered for the party was mobilized by friends of MK in Kigezi and he noted that they had the hunger to celebrate the First Son’s birthday as Kigezi region, than any other region in Uganda because he participated in the reopening of the Uganda/Rwanda border thus reopening the economy of Kigezi.

“The bond between Kigezi and Rwanda was inseparable, and thus we had the hunger and urgent need to celebrate Muhoozi Kainerugaba Birthday in Kigezi than any other region in Uganda,”said Arinda.

Norman Tushabe the Rubanda District NRM Vice Chairperson and Rubanda Town council LCIII Chairperson thanked the organizers for celebrating one of the vibrant servants of Uganda’s army, and described this as timely.

Rtd Major General Timothy Sabiti Mutebile the former commander of the UPDF Engineering Brigade described Gen Muhoozi as good son of Uganda and wished Muhoozi a perfect Future.

Eric Ssewandigi the coordinator for revolutionary Guards in Buganda and the Deputy RDC for Rubanda District who was the guest of honor thanked the Organizing Committee for organizing funds themselves, without any external support.

He revealed that MK was in the future becoming one of leaders of Uganda, if he continued with the leadership pace he has today.

He also asked Ugandans to embrace government programs like Parish Development Model-PDM and Emyooga.

The Friends of MK gifted him a spear and a shield symbolizing defense and a local cup known in Kigezi as Ekikopo kyenkiga Kyenturiire , the cup bearing an inscription saying love from Kigezi, will be used by Muhoozi to drink Enturiire in his free time.
