Nigerian movie actor/director, Desmond Oluwashola Elliot is currently in Uganda.
The actor tuned politician is in Kampala as one of the delegates attending the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference that is happening this week at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo.
Elliot is representing Surulere 1 Constituency in Lagos State House of Assembly, but he is more famous in Uganda following his appearance in over 200 Nigerian movies that made him popular in the country.

Who is Desmond Elliot?
Born on February 4 1974, Elliot is a Yoruba and hails from Olowogbowo in Lagos Island state, though he grew up in Jos city.
Eliot attended his primary education at Air Force Primary School and later joined St John College for High school. He later graduated with a Bachelors’ in Economics at Lagos State University in 2003.
The Nollywood actor got married to his longtime girlfriend Victoria Elliot on December 25th 2003 after eight years of cohabiting and they are blessed with two sets of twins. Elliot and Victoria also manage their video production company called Denziot Production.
How he joined the movie industry
Elliot was influenced by a friend to join the movie industry, and in 2003, he joined the industry and acted in soap operas like Everyday People, Sinners, One Too Much and Saints.
Elliot’s stardom grew bigger after appearing in over 200 successful movies such as Behind closed doors, Games women play, Falling without wings, Fools in love, Men do cry, Passion and Pain among others which earned him a number of Best Actor nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards among others.
Beside acting, Elliot Is also a prominent Nollywood movie director and Producer and has been behind many successful projects like Reloaded, Holding hopes, Guilty pleasures, Unforgivable, Silver spoon among others.
Elliot joins politics
Following his new found fame as an actor, it was easy for him to join politics. The Nollywood star joined the political race under the All Progressive Congress (APC) party ticket. He now represents the Surulere 1 Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly since 2015.
The win made him just one of the over 15 actors and musicians who entered Nigeria’s 2015 National elections and succeeded.
