It is sad. Bobi Wine supporter Ziggy Wine has fallen, days after he was kidnapped, beaten and eye plucked out.

He was One of Bobi Wine’s close allies. Michael Alinda, better known as Ziggy Wine, died in Mulago referral hospital on Sunday.

Ziggy Wine, a People Power member was friends to popstar turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi.

Watchdog could not independently establish if his death has anything to do with his political beliefs.

However Ziggy Wine was attacked by unknown people a couple of weeks ago who left him fighting for his dear life and one of his eyes removed.

Bobi Wine said on his social media pages that Ziggy Wine had been kidnapped a couple of weeks ago by unknown people.

“My close friend and fellow artist was kidnapped a couple of weeks back, beaten beyond recognition, his left eye plucked out, two of his fingers cut off, all his belongings taken and dumped in Mulago Hospital and left for dead,” he said.

Daily Monitor reported that sources who saw results from a CT scan at Mulago Hospital, said Ziggy Wine was bleeding in the brain.

The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Kyagulanyi said that his friend was in such a bad state that he nearly lost all his senses and was now surviving on God’s mercy.

“This is one of the very many saddening stories across the country sanctioned by the very people whose duty is to protect us.”

Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson Patrick Onyango had promised that police would follow up with who abandoned Ziggy Wine at Mulago and bring the culprits to book.
