A 27-year-old woman has been jailed by the Mukono High Court for killing her husband.

Jackline Nakku will now serve 20 years in prison after court found her guilty of killing her husband, Eric Ssenyonjo Kiddu with and iron bar following a domestic dispute.

Nakku, court heard, hit Kiddu several times on the head, with an iron bar in the wee hours of February 14, 2018, in Nabuuti village, Mukono Municipality.

He died instantly.

Court also heard that after he fell dead, Nakku made an alarm which attracted neighbors, who found his body lying in a pool of blood with an iron bar, a panga and a brick besides it.

Upon interrogation, she allegedly said her husband had been attacked by unknown people in their bedroom.

“However, when police reached the crime scene and cordoned off the area, there was no sign of forced entry.
When Police interrogated the maid who is an adult and children but they all said they had not heard any one break into the house apart from the beating which was inside the house,” local media reports.

Neighbours also told police that the couple had a long domestic misunderstanding that had once attracted religious and local leaders after the deceased had accused Nakku of having an affair with another man

Justice Susan Okalony said Nakku intended to kill the husband because she concentrated on his head which she hit several times.
