Veteran singer Ragga Dee, aka Daniel Kazibwe will once again contest for Kampala Lord Mayor in the 2011 general elections. Ragga Dee joins other aspirants including fellow musicians Jose Chameleone (Joseph Mayanja) and legislator Latif Ssebagala who have already declared their interest.

Ragga Dee who lost to Erias Lukwago in the 2016 elections, says, he was more than ready to beat Lukwago this time round, because he has gathered experience in running for political office unlike in the last elections.

“I did my own thing as Ragga Dee. The party didn’t know where I was coming from. Lord Mayor isn’t for the broke. You have 5 divisions,” he said. He said a lot of money is required on polling day.

“That’s when you lose money. I had 1, 954 polling stations. You need three people per polling station.”

While featuring on Capital FM hosted by Moses Kalule, Ragga Dee, one of the many musicians who have invaded politics, says, he will put Lukwago on spot to explain what he has done for the people of Kampala. He also revealed that he used about SDh2.5 billion in the last elections.

“I gave a chance to Lukwago to see what he can do. I will ask him what he has done,” he told Capital Radio.

Ragga Dee was defeated by Lukwago in the 2016 polls, only managing 49, 366 votes compared to Lukwago’s 176, 637. The late Isa Kikungwe of DP garnered 7, 759.
