NBS TV reporter Sheila Mugisha quits over ‘Museveni interview’

Sheila Tusiime Mugisha, one of the most senior reporters at the Kamwokya based NBS TV has thrown in the towel.

Sheila, whose last big story, was interviewing President Yoweri Museveni, quit Next Media, left in a manner that might displease several well placed people.

NBS TV has been accused by Mr Museveni before for being anti establishment, despite the television’s efforts to air several government programs. However, reports on our desk indicate that the management of Next Media wasn’t pleased with her personal efforts that landed her an exclusive interview with Mr Museveni.

Sheila who has strong security and state houses sources and contacts, has been playing a link between the NBS news department with highly placed sources, which has helped the Kamwokya based TV compete favourably in the news market.

We understand that NBS has not issued an official announcement regarding Sheila’s departure, but she has since packed her belongings including a special chair she had brought into the newsroom on health considerations.

Sheila is the latest senior staff at NBS, to follow the Exodus out of Next Media, which indicates that CEO Kin Kalisa needs to fortify his human resource department to take good care of the talent he head hunts but don’t stay for long.
In recent times Muyanga Lutaaya (political show host), Darren Kyeyune (sports), John Baptist Imokola (news), Abubaker Ssettumba Ttaaba (English news editor) among others also called it quits.
