Ssewanyana to make greedy officials vomit Shs3.5b meant for ‘smelly’ Kiruddu hospital

Makindye West Member of Parliament Allan Ssewanyana has vowed to make greedy and selfish officials vomit the money that was meant to fix the sewerage system of Kiruddu Hospital.

The defective sewage disposal system is not only a problem to residents in the area but also to patients and medical officers at the health centre due to its not so pleasant smell.

Ssewanyana was on Wednesday released after spending two days at Naggalama Police Station.  He was arrested on Monday while trying to close the facility over the management’s failure to construct a better sewage management system.

Shortly after getting out of detention, the legislator said he was charged with unlawful society, which is categorically a tramped up and malicious charge, aimed at silencing him from demanding for accountability of the released billions of tax payer’s money to fix the problem.

“I lobbied for Shs3.5 billion from the Health and finance committees of Parliament, which was released to fix the sewerage system of the hospital which has not only become a problem to the neighbourhood, but also patients and workers therein. The facility is damn smelling,” he said.

Adding, “I vow and I repeat, never to relent or give up on having the sewerage system of that hospital fixed with immediate effect and if our money meant to solve the problem was ‘eaten’ by those greedy and selfish officials, it is time for them to vomit it.”
