As the way to promote wealth creation and prosperity for all in the country, Ugandans have been called upon to utilise the increased markets along the highways to sell their produce for income sustainability.
While launching the Mbizi Daily Market in Rutunguru Ward, Kajara County in Ntungamo District over the weekend, Hon Beatrice Rwakimaari, the Ntungamo District Woman MP noted that government has done a lot in terms of infrastructure development such as roads and appealed to all communities along side roads to use them by displaying their produce for the passers-by.
“It’s unfortunate for the communities along side roads to be impoverished in poverty yet they have the produce to sell. Take advantage of the many roads which are being constructed under the government of NRM across the country,” Rwakimaari said.
She asked the communities to utilize the market profitably for household income and warned parents against stopping their school from going children.
The Ntungamo District chairperson, Dennis Singahache urged Kagarama town council to expeditiously secure funds for land tittles for all government land in order deter encroachers.
Singahache pledged that district will construct permanent public toilet at the market.
Clerk Benson Arinaitwe Rwankangi thanked the local leadership for cooperation which has enabled Kagarama to take big strides in two years of existence, though they are still facing some challenges.
He called upon traders to start applying for lockups for free of charge.
