The Bishop South Ankole diocese the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe on Thursday urged Anglican clerics to enhance the number of churches in their areas of jurisdiction if they are to be good shepherds of the God’s flocks.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe said this while officially commissioning the St James COU Kakungu and confirmation service in Rubaare Archdeaconry in Rubaare Sub county Rushenyi County Ntungamo District.
He reminded them that church is like a hospital where people go heavy burdened but go back home smiling and cleansed.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe added that clerics should protect church and serve well believers without discrimination.
He hailed the believers of St James COU Kakungu and their priest Ruth Muhanguzi for their commitment appealing to keep the spirit.
The South Ankole diocesan secretary Rev Canon Yoram Ntoreine presented the license and certificate granting St James COU Kakungu to operate as a parish on its own.
St James COU Kakungu in Rubaare archdeacon is only parish in south Ankole diocese of one church.
However, Rev Can Joram Mworeka donated part of his land in Kyeeshe to create sub parish under Kakungu COU which will be named Kyeeshe Town church.
The parish priest Rev Ruth Muhanguzi commended Bishop Ahimbisibwe for consecrating St James COU Kakungu and ordained her as deacon.
She also hailed Hon Mwesigwa Rukutan MP Rushenyi, Ven Rev Joram Akoragye Archdeacon and Lay Cano Tumwesigye Ezekiel the head of laity Rubaare archdeaconry among others for their contributions.
Bishop was assisted by Ven Rev Joram Akoragye Archdeacon Rubaare and Rev Nathan Nkuranga chaplain.
During the service 22 children was baptized in boona babatizibwe(all be baptized)drive, 38 confirmed, 2 wedded and 2m shillings was raised .
