Uganda’s top businessman Sudhir Ruparelia is set to venture into vegetable farming.

Of late, the Ruparelia Group chairman and his son Rajiv Ruparelia have been inspecting several areas in Masaka District with an aim of securing fertile land to start up vegetable farming as well as expanding their floriculture business.

Speaking to one of the local newspapers, Sudhir said that he has already acquired a fertile land and he is ready to spearhead his new venture.

“Farming is the backbone of this economy and I do not want to be left behind,” He disclosed.

On the other hand, last month, Sudhir visited Bbaale Village in Kayunga District where is set to acquire over nine square miles of land to expand his floriculture business.

Apparently, the property mogul owns two floriculture companies in Entebbe-Rosebud Limited and Premier Roses and they are the biggest exporters of flowers in Uganda.
