Uganda Premier League club media officers tipped on how to handle challenges through public relations

FUFA’s five year strategic plan has taken a firm ground  with yet another capacity building session by organising a Communications workshop for the Uganda Premier League, FUFA Big League and Regional Football Association media officers at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

The workshop running from 17th -21st July 2018 has also attracted the National team media officers .

Over 40 media officers are part of the training that is aiming at empowering the group with the latest communication basics of the modern game through theory and practical sessions.

The training has equipped media officers on how to Communicate in football with internal and the external stakeholders and handle challenges with public relations.

The course modules covered practicals for the media officers on how to control, handle non match Day and Match Day games activities that involve pre-match interviews and post match interviews.

The other topics covered saw the Media officers taken through sessions in organising press conferences, filling the Media start list, match graphics, mixed zone interviews, post match conferences, Live Commentary, videography, photography and live streaming.

Media officer also had tutorial theory sessions in digital public relations, ethics and integrity which are all part of the training.

This is one of the steps FUFA has taken to professionalise Club football through capacity building in order to fulfill the vision of becoming the number one football Nation on the continent.

Fifteen (15) out of 16 Uganda Premier League clubs registered for the workshop. FUFA Big League side Proline FC are also represented in Njeru. Express FC and Paidha Black Angles FC missed out on the training.

FUFA Human Resource and Capacity building Manager Jackson Nyima, Chairman FUFA Marketing and Communications Chairman Rogers Byamukama, FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein were the Instructors while eperienced sports journalists  Douglas Muzune and Madoi Robert took the Media Officers through key areas of Media relations, Ethics and Integrity, digital public relations tutorial.

FUFA Marketing Director Esther Musoke and FUFA Events Manager Leila Nankya also contributed to the  training sessions.
