Outgoing LC1 chairpersons told to immediately hand over offices

Outgoing LC1 chairpersons have been ordered to handover offices immediately.

In a letter dated 12 July, 2018, Local Government Ministry Permanent Secretary Ben Kumumanya told all Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) and town clerks of municipalities that out going local council elected leaders are supposed to handover all government property in their possession to the parish chief under the supervision of the relevant sub county chief.

According to Kumumanya, the CAOs and town clerks are supposed to oversee the exercise in their respective districts as per section 64(i).
