The Rubanda East member of Parliament Henry Musasizi has upheld the social media tax, that was recently introduced in the country.

According to the Uganda Revenue a=Authority, the tax is intended to boost the country’s tax revenue.
The tax of shs200 that must be paid every day has been received with criticism.
However, the Rubanda East legislator Henry Musasizi stormed his Twitter handle @henrymussasizi1and told his followers to pay off the tax for the country to grow it’s resource envelope.
Musasizi added that in that way more services that the country badly needs would be done.
The legislator recently said that if one can afford to buy a smartphone, that then he can’t fail to pay for a daily tax of shs200.
This social media tax went into operation on 1/July /2018.
