Residents in Kawanda have named a road after slain Arua Municipality Member of Parliament Ibrahim Abiriga.

This was during the tribute ceremony that took place on Friday at Kaayi Masjid Community Mosque.

At an event organized by the community mobilizer and former Councilor, Kawanda ward, Casmoto Mutebi, the residents used opportunity to remember the assistance that Abiriga rendered to them during his life time.

They asked the NRM government to tarmac the road as a final recognition of the man who was a strong party supporter.

Abiriga and his brother Said Buga were killed by unknown assailants on the evening of June 8 a few metres from the MP’s home in Kawanda, Wakiso District.
