Women activists belonging to Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party have on Tuesday morning camped outside Police Headquarters in Naguru demanding for a meeting with the Inspector General of Police (IGP)Martin Okoth Ochola over investigations and lack of conclusive reports into the recent kidnaps and murders of women in the country.

FDC women led by Dr. Stella Nyanzi say they want to meet the IGP to discuss over the matter.

Last week the women wrote to the IGP about the meeting, but didn’t get an immediate response.

On Monday Ochola made a comment via his twitter handle where he said that he received the letter calling for a meeting but he is unable to meet them.

“I have received a letter from the Women’s Protesting Working Group, requesting to meet me tomorrow to deliver their petition. Am unable to meet them. I have tasked my PA to arrange for another date.” He posted.

Ochola added that he is willing to meet the group on a date and time to be determined by the organizers and my Personal assistant but not today.

The women, however refused to cancel their plans thus marching to the headquarters where they found Anti-terrorism and Anti- riot police heavily deployed and ready for them.
