NRM has blamed errant party members for its loss in yesterday’s Rukungiri Woman MP By-election.
NRM’s Winnie Matsiko polled 46,379 votes against FDC’s Betty Muzanira who got 50,611votes.
According to the party’s Communications Officer Rogers Mulindwa, they lost because of the errant members who opposed the official party position and never walked the journey with other members.
“We however continue to express dismay over the errant party members who opposed the official party position and never walked the journey with us. NRM lost the race but there are good signs of winning the bigger battle in this area in future,” said Mulindwa.
On the other hand, Mulindwa revealed that their support in Rukungiri district has continued to grow into fertile grounds for hope in future elections.
He further said from Rukungiri they are going back to the drawing board to evaluate themselves and set winning strategies for the pending by-elections.
