The newly elected board of directors for the Netherlands Uganda Trade and Investment Platform (NUTIP) has vowed to keep the strong fight against counterfeit in Uganda.
During the Annual General Meeting that took place at the DFCU head office conference room in Kampala, the Executive Director NUTIP also the current Agro business Development Centre Miss Anja de Feijter said that Uganda has so many counterfeit products on the market which cannot even be allowed to enter the Dutch land.
“I thank all the members who have given in whole heartedly to make sure that the union moves on. We are going to work together with the other developmental partners to make sure that Uganda is free from counterfeit” Said Anja
The newly elected board directors include Ms.Anneke Elisabeth de Feijter, Ms.Deborah K Mugabi, Mr Paul van Apeldoorn, Mr Davis M. Baasha and Mr Edward Lukwago.
After the AGM, the board was joined by the minister for Agriculture, animal industry and fisheries Hon Vicent Bamulangaki Sempijja, together with other stake holders to flag off best farmers for a journey tour to the Netherlands.
Sempijja thanked all the farmers for such great efforts and here, he advised everyone to go and learn but also come back home with knowledge that they can teach fellow Ugandans.
The minister also noted that the government is doing much to create an enabling environment to the farmers so that they can boost their agro inputs.
“Most of Uganda’s products are on demand in most of these foreign countries. So the earlier you start the better.” Added Sempijja.
The farmers were collected from various parts of Uganda and shall visit the Netherlands to learn new ideas of improving on their agriculture systems in Uganda.
