The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) Executive Director Allen Kagina has increased hopes of unemployed Ugandans more especially those who live along Kampala Jinja road.
Kagina said many people are going to be employed during and after the construction of Kampala-Jinja express highway.
Speaking this, Kagina was at Serena Hotel Kampala during the launch of the Kampala Jinja express highway project.
She said that the project is expected to benefit Ugandans where over 1500 jobs shall be created during construction and 300 long term jobs during the 25 year operation period.
“It is expected that a significant portion of the works,30% shall be executed by the local companies in line with the local content guidelines. “Said Kagina.
She added that the local content is expected to result in significant strengthening and improvement of the local construction industry.
Kagina however promised the investors who shall invest in this project to expect a good return on investment since there shall be high returns.
