Police holding 2 notorious thugs terrorizing ladies on busy city streets

Police has in custody two men believed to be a part of thieves who cut ladies’s handbags using razor blades taking their valuables.

Joseph Mukasa Kalyango commonly known as Bugirita and Paul Serugo were arrested by police after getting information from concerned and affected people.

The office in charge of operations at CPS Kampala Ivan Nduhura said that Mukasa and his colleagues usually way lay people on pavements of busy streets and outside shopping malls most especially at the ever crowded Miniprice in the central Kampala.

“We have for long been receiving complaints about thieves who cut bags of those moving in streets. Normally the victims discover that their bags have been cut after reaching their destinations. We there for deployed detectives and other plain clothed officers who managed to apprehend and bring them to police,” Mr Nduhura said.

It is not the first time Mukasa has been arrested by police. He has on several times been convicted in court over the same offences but returns to the streets after serving his full sentence

Mukasa who is currently at CPS Kampala said that he was forced into this criminal activity when he lost his merchandise during scuffles with KCCA officers.
