A delegation of members of parliament belonging to the Finance and Economic Planning Committee today toured Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) customs border stations in Uganda.

During the trip, the law makers appraised themselves on URA border operations, appreciating the challenges URA staff go through while serving at the border stations as well as observing the workings of initiatives like One Stop Border Post, Non-intrusive inspection, The Single Customs Territory and the Uganda Electronic Single Window.

This is mainly an accountability tour to fact check what government money has done for trade facilitation through the various initiatives and how the the efforts are changing the face of cross border trade in the region.

The delegation was led by the Committee chairman , Henry Musasizi, MP Rubanda East.

The tour commenced this morning with the visit to the Busia One Stop Border Post and is set to cover the border posts in the East and North of Uganda.
