State Minister for Lands Persis Namuganza is expected today to appear before Parliamentary Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline following an intensified feud between her and Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
On Tuesday the committee kick started inquiries into the row between Kadaga and Namuganza who is also a legislator for Bukono County.
It is alleged that Namuganza at one social function in her constituency incited her voters to boycott all activities organized by the Speaker whom she condemned for officiating at a cultural function that enthroned a chief in Namuganza’s constituency without her (Namuganza) knowledge.
She is also accused of rebelling against Busoga Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV.
During today’s interface with the committee on Tuesday, the legal counsel to the Busoga caucus who doubles as Bukooli North MP, Gaster Mugoya together with other caucus MPs described Namuganza as an unruly human being who can no longer be managed by the Busoga caucus as an institution.
The Vice Chairman of the committee, Abbas Agaba also revealed that the committee will as well meet Speaker Kadaga over the same matter at a given period of time.
Meanwhile, yesterday a number of Kamuli residents went on the streets of Kamuli to protest against Namuganza’s ferocious attack on the Speaker the Kyabazinga.
