The NRM Secretariat has warned the general public of an unscrupulous person who is impersonating the party’s Deputy National Treasurer Dr. Kenneth Omona and conning people of their hard earned money.
According to NRM Communications Officer Rogers Mulindwa, the suspect has on several occasions used text and WhatsApp messages or call ministers, Members of Parliament, the clergy, relatives, friends and security personnel among other commonly using 0716711541 among others , to borrow money or ask for financial support on allegations of being sick, stranded within or abroad or being in an emergency situation requiring urgent attention.
“This act has been ongoing for over six months and we perceive it as an attempt to tarnish the personal image of Dr Kenneth Omona and/or the institution of the NRM secretariat. This matter has already been reported to the police and investigations are on- going,” said Mulindwa.
He further noted that Dr. Omona has never reached out to the general public for any form of financial assistance and he is not carrying out any fundraising as the conman claims.
