Apostle Paul Kamba a South Africa based Ugandan evangelist was on Sunday morning gunned down while in his office.
After the incident, Kamba a senior pastor of Destiny Midwives Christian Centre in Edenvale, South Africa, was rushed to the hospital, but was on Monday morning confirmed dead.
According Solomon Izang Ashoms, an activist and Johannesburg correspondent at BBC World Service, witnesses at the scene claim that three men entered the church, went to Apostle Paul Kamba’s office, shot him and fled the scene.
“It’s unknown currently why this took place and police is not ruling out possible business robbery.” he said.
Apostle Mondo Mugisha, the lead pastor at the Empowerment Christian Prayer Center International, revealed that Kamba was shot twice in the abdomen.
“He had just concluded the morning service and gone to take a break in his office in the company of his wife. But as they were moving out of the office, the gunmen who did not ask for anything like money or other valuables just shot at him,” Mugisha who was a close friend to Kamba said.
Apparently, preparations are being made to a have Kamba’s body flown back to Uganda.
He will be buried at his ancestral home in Bugweri, Iganga District.
