Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has declared NASA’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) as an organized criminal group.
In a gazette notice dated January 30, Matiang’i outlawed the movement as per the Prevention of Organised Crimes Act, 2010.
The Interior CS issued the notice just hours after NASA leader Raila Odinga was sworn in as the ‘People’s President’ at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
According to Citizen TV, NRM, a wing of National Super Alliance (NASA), was formed late last year and wear soldier-like uniforms, a jungle green cap branded with a gold fist and besides it emblazoned, Resistance.
“We (NRM) will resist an illegitimate government rejected by over 70% of Kenyans in a sham charade,” wrote Homa Bay Women Representative, Gladys Wanga during their unveiling.
