All is not well for NBS TV star presenter Simon Muyanga Lutaaya after Jinja High Court ordering his arrest.
The court issued an arrest warrant for the Barometer show host after he failed pay a court fine worth Shs153million.
Muyanga Lutaaya was fined after he lost the cases at Jinja High Court and Court of Appeal which he had filed against NRM’s Kenneth Lubogo’s victory in the 2016 parliamentary elections.
Lutaaya had contested on FDC ticket to become the Bulamongi Constituency MP but he miserably lost to Lubogo.
Jinja High Court deputy registrar Mr Jesse Byaruhanga, on Wednesday issued the arrest warrant after Muyanga allegedly failed to honour court summons.
According to the warrant of arrest, Muyanga is supposed to be arrested, sent to Kirinya prison or Nalufenya and his property sold off to recover the money.
However, Muyanga says he appealed the fine and requested Court to review it since it was very high.
“I’m aware of that bill but I appealed the sum. I want it addressed and sorted out because it is too high,” noted Muyanga as quoted by Daily Monitor.
