Uganda Cranes Begin Non Residential Sessions Ahead Of 2017 CECAFA Championship

The Uganda Cranes team started training on Wednesday ahead of the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge Championship in Kenya.

16 players attended the session conducted by head coach Moses Basena for about two hours.

Basena has lauded the players for the level of fitness and competitive spirit shown.

“We have started well and the response from all the players is overwhelming. We need to keep focused because defending the CECAFA trophy is our main target as we also plan ahead for the CHAN 2018 tournament” said Basena.

The KCCA football club players summoned did not attend the training because they traveled from Mbarara to Kampala on Wednesday.

“We expect all the KCCA players on Thursday morning when we resume training” Basena added.

All the players in attendence looked fresh, aggressive and physically well.

The final team will be named on Friday before departure on Saturday.
