Police holding 5 notorious criminals over aggravated robbery

Mutungo Police team under Kajjansi Division has arrested five suspects in connection with housebreaking and for committing a string of burglaries.

OC Mutungo Police Station ASP. Awio Moses said following a tip-off, police caught the prime suspect together with four others during a raid. The five were identified as Jjuko Fred,Muwonge Gerald,Ismail Ssekabi,Abdalah Nkangi,and Muyoomba Sam.

“The whole operation was triggered following a house break-in and property theft from a house resident in Lubugumu. Investigators found that the four juvenile boys all in their teen age have been active in committing burglaries and theft for about six months in areas of Kakoola,Mutungo Central,Kiigo,Kiigo Lunya,Kitiiko.

During the search at the prime suspects home, police also seized several stolen items comprising of 42 inch Samsung Flat Screen,Woofers,Amplifier and a circular metal cutter. Meanwhile, the mastermind suspect Jjjuko Fred aged 19 has 17 criminal records registered at different police stations.
Police believe with the arrests of the suspects, they have managed to solve 10 cases involving the group. If the suspects are arraigned before court could face 7 years of imprisonment.

According the Penal Code Act ,any person who breaks and enters any building, tent or vessel used as a human dwelling commits the felony termed housebreaking and is liable to imprisonment for seven years. If the offence is committed in the night, it is termed burglary, and the offender is liable to imprisonment for ten years.
