Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi was at the center of Friday’s anti-IEBC demonstrations after a tear gas canister was hurled into his car.

Anti-riot police lobbed the canister at him after he left ODM’s Capitol Hill offices in Upperhill where NASA leaders had just concluded a press briefing.

He accused the police of using excessive force to prevent them from accessing the Central Business District.

Mr Amisi further blamed the officer for breaking his car’s window when they threw the teargas canister at him.

He was accompanied by his bodyguard and driver. The legislator collapsed after inhaling the tear gas.

Journalists and a water vendor performed first aid on him after he collapsed in the middle of the road.

The MP claims that his driver drove off and left him all alone. Unknown individuals robbed him and he was saved by the Capital FM crew that drove off with the legislator.

Amisi confirmed that he had not yet reported the incident to the police.

National Super Alliance supporters engaged police in fierce confrontations during demonstrations in the Nairobi city centre despite a ban issued by acting Interior CS Fred Matiang’i .
