City lawyer Andrew Karamagi has claimed that President Yoweri Museveni is not the legitimate president of Uganda.
While appearing on NBS TV’s Topical Discussion on Thursday morning, Karamagi said Museveni is Uganda’s legal president but not legitimate.
According to the lawyer, apparently president Museveni and his colleagues represents not less than 10% of the country’s population today.
“Mr Museveni is the legal president of Uganda but he is not the legitimate president of Uganda. Him and his colleagues represent not less than 10% of the population today,” he said.
He noted that Museveni has refused to accept that 31 years rule is enough and he should be preparing to step down.
“There is an apparent refusal for President Museveni to accept that 31 years is enough & he should be preparing to step down,” Karamaji asserted.
The Lawyer’s comments come at a moment when the country is preoccupied by the contentious age limit debate aiming at amending article 102b of the constitution to scrap the age limit cap which shall enable Museveni stand for president in 2021 even after exceeding 75 years of age.
