President Museveni has decorated His Highness the Aga Khan with “Most Excellent Order of Pearl of Africa, Grand Master” medal during the Independence Day celebrations held in Bushenyi.
The medal is the highest civilian award of the Ugandan Honours System.
His Highness the Aga Khan is a special guest during at the 55th independence anniversary celebrations and medal awarded to him is in recognition of his exceptional efforts towards the economic development of Uganda.
His Highness, the Agha Khan is the 49th hereditary spiritual leader (Imam) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims.
