The outgoing Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president Gen. Mugisha Muntu earlier today held a session with all MPs opposed to the contentious age limit bill.
The meeting was held in the office of the Leader of Opposition (LoP).
The retired UPDF serviceman briefed MPs on how to handle the critical situation through engaging them with new tactics of suppressing the motion.
“This morning Gen. Mugisha Muntu found some time and held a session with all the opposition members of Parliament about the ongoing debate of the Age Limit Constitutional Amendment.
It was a pleasure to hear from such an experienced man in leadership matters and as one of those that promulgated The 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda(as amended),” revealed Winnie Kiiza, the LoP.
Yesterday, the opposition members successfully managed to halt parliamentary proceedings through creating commotion in the house until the speaker adjourned the House to today.
However, in today’s session, the story may not be the same because, the state has already deployed highly trained SFC soldiers dressed in suits to deal with any form of commotion at parliament.
