Police Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has summoned anti- age limit removal Members of Parliament to answer charges of offensive communication and inciting of violence among the general public.

The summoned legislators include Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko, Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana, Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo and Buyaga County Barnabas Tinkasimire.

According to D/SSP Odong Mark Paul, Director Criminals Investigations, the MPs are required to report to the office of the Commissioner Media Crimes, tomorrow on Tuesday to provide valuable information in regard to the allegation.

Last week, during a press conference, the MPs in question vowed to fight tooth and nail to bar any move aiming at lifting the age limit.

“There’s no way this age limit bill will come to the floor of Parliament, we will grab and tear it. We shall disrupt Parliament. Those that are mooting for age limit bill don’t wish you (Museveni) well. How will you tell your children to stand for the truth? What you (Museveni) should be doing is introducing a bill for your retirement package,”revealed Nsereko.

Meanwhile, cabinet has already given a green light to NRM MPs pushing for the amendment of article 102b to table a private members bill before parliament.
