Vipers Sports Club failed to earn maximum points against ten man Bright stars despite creating several chances.
In the game played at Champions stadium in Mwererwe on Tuesday, Vipers made several efforts to break down a resilient Bright stars.
The home side was reduced to ten men in the 13th minute after a double footed challenge on Erisa Ssekisambu by Bright stars midfielder Jimmy Kakooza.
Ssekisambu got the first attempt at goal in the 21st minute after a long ball from Tadeo Lwanga but goalkeeper Hamza Muwonge denied him parrying the ball away.
Youngster Ashraf Mandela also got closer to putting the Venoms in the lead towards the break but the home side’s custodian once again was in the right place to save.
At the start of the second half, head Coach Miguel Da Costa introduced Tony Odur and Pius Wangi for Stephen Mukwala and Ashraf Mandela respectively.
Vipers made several attempts to find a winner but Bright stars decided to drop back and defend.
Vipers will now shift focus to the next game which will be against BUL FC at home on Friday.
