Women urged to be innovative

“When you check out the Forbes, you will realize that the richest people are dealing with the energy sector.”

Those were some of the words spoken by Mr. John Tumuhimbise, the Assistant commissioner renewable energy in the ministry of energy and mineral development as he closed a one week training of women on bio waste at Makerere Kikoni.

The training was conducted by the Center for Integrated Research and Mineral development Uganda [CIRCODU] under the fund of International Development Innovation Network, based in the United States of America.

Tumuhimbise believes that if more women come out and join the energy sector, they are more likely to be two times richer than the ordinary man. “I urge more women to stop sleeping and be innovative.

The more times you think outside the box, the richer your chances of being rich are” Said Tumuhimbise. Namirembe Doreen, one of the participants thanked CIRCODU for the work well done and promised to use the skills that she has acquired even in the outside world.

The training involved class sessions, practical s as well as going out to the field to realize how efficient the product learnt about was in the eyes of people.

The executive director of the Center for Integrated Research and Community Development Innovative network [CIRCODU] Mr. Joseph Ndemere Arinaiwe was happy with the speed the young ladies were learning the skills at.

“Iam happy that these young ladies are learning at a first rate” noted Ndemire. The training involved more than 20 girls who each went after having something visible to the community..
