Kasanda South County Member of Parliament Simeo Nsubuga will live to regret the day he decided to support the lifting of the controversial age limit clause in the Constitution after he was embarrassed in front of the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi at his 24th coronation ceremony in Buwekula county in Mubende district on Monday morning.

It all started when the MC and Mengo minister Noah Kiyimba called out MPs in Buganda region were called out to pay their allegiance before Kabaka for recognition and Simeo Nsubuga was among the MPs happy to show their faces to the Kabaka.

Hill Water

But to his dismay, a one William Ntege commonly known as Kyuma kya Yesu, emerged from the crowd and dragged him off the queue, asking him why he was supporting the lifting of the age limit in the Uganda Constitution.

Within the blink of an eye, Ntege was already joined by other angry youth who wanted to ‘skin’ Nsubuga alive.

They accused the MP of being a hypocrite. The scared MP was later saved by Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwama who calmed down the angry youth.

Ntege was arrested by police but he insisted that Simeo and Sekitoleko Kafeero should be burnt to ashes by Ugandans since they also don’t wish them well.

Ntege is a broadcast journalist, who has among other media houses, worked for the defunct WBS television. Watchdog Uganda is yet to establish which media house Ntege works for presently.

There is a growing activism in the country for and against a proposal to amend article 102b of the constitution to remove the 75 years age cap.
