Hope you still remember Carol Atuhirwe who touched Ugandans’ hearts due to her joyous and non-endless smiles even though she was suffering from one of the most deadly diseases in the whole world.

The bad news is that Atuhirwe has lost the battle to cancer of the throat and lungs. She died last evening in India where she has been obtaining treatment.

The news about her death was announced by one of her caretakers Muhereeza Kyamutetera on his social media.

“Our Atuhirwe Carol has finally gone to be with the Lord. Thanks all Ye for the fight. Details will be communicated later,” he posted on his social media.

By the time the country knew her last year, Carol had lost her voice, but she always communicated through her Facebook page and blog, expressing her gratitude for the love from strangers and also sharing how she was battling the disease.

Atuhirwe who was born on April 9, 1986 was 31 years old at the time of her passing.

Rest In Peace Carol Atuhirwe
