The Deputy Government spokesperson Rtd. Col Shaban Bantariza has said President Yoweri Museveni is a good leader who doesn’t ignore any individual and that is why he extended the SIM card registration deadline to cater for the remaining 8% of the population.

While appearing on NBS TV’s Topical Discussion show today morning, Bantariza said 92% verified the SIM cards and the extension is meant for the 8% because everyone matters.

“The simcard registration deadline extension was done to cater for only 8% of the population. President Museveni is a good leader who doesn’t ignore any individual,” said Bantariza.

“92% have verified SIM cards. The extension was for the 8% because everyone matters. What we’ve is a population that takes things for granted but I’m happy that majority had verified their SIM cards,” He added.

Just days after information minister Frank Tumwebaze confirmed the switch off of all unregistered and unverified SIM cards, President Museveni defied all odds and ordered all telecom companies to switch back all the affected SIM cards thus extending the verification process for more three months.
