The Anti-Corruption Court has today offered bail to Brian Mugabo, the aide to the embattled state minister for Labour Herbert Kabafunzaki.
Chief Magistrate Agnes Alum has released Mugabo on bail after his lawyer Drake Twebaze applied for bail and presented three sureties who included his mother Jackeline Kyomugisha, one Mark Kayiga a city businessman and Dues Behengana, the LC3 Rwamukyonkyo sub county in Kabale district.
The judge granted the applicant a 4 million shillings cash bail, saying the sureties were substantive and the three sureties were bonded at 40 Million shillings each and the matter adjourned to 18th May when the suspect and his co-accused will reappear for mentioning of their case.
Last month Mugabo was arrested along with Bruce Lubowa and his boss Kabafunzaki for allegedly soliciting a bribe from AYA proprietor Muhammad Hamid.
A few days later Kabafunzaki and his co-accused Lubowa were released after they pleaded not guilty.
However, President Yoweri Museveni was propmpted to suspend the minister from office until investigations are done.
