Last week, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) closed down Good African Coffee and Good African Café Restaurants owned by city businessman Andrew Rugasira over shs1 billion tax arrears.

But after some few days, the tax regulatory body cleared the Rugasira after both parties managed to reach an understanding.

After the incident, Rugasira has come out to laud Ugandans who managed to stand by him during the trying moment when his business was closed.

He says the people’s support showed him the enormous privilege of faith, support and loyalty the community has for him.

Rugasira’s message to the supportive community;

Dear Friends,

This past week, I was once again comforted by a lesson that I often experience on my entrepreneurial journey.

When people stand with you in times of trouble, raise their voices for you, stand in the gap with you, and even give you the benefit of the doubt, it isn’t that you are right, merit it, or are even justified. Rather, it is that one has just experienced the enormous privilege of faith, support and loyalty from an extraordinary community.

To this community, I write to thank, salute and celebrate you. No matter the challenges, the obstacles, our failings, weaknesses or difficulties, i will strive to continue to steadfastly pursue the Good African vision of value-added African products, bring dignity and social transformation to our producer communities.

Thank you for the privilege of your support.

Andrew
