Usafi market vendors have called upon Kampala Minister Beti Kamya to help them elect a new market management board.
Vendors are accusing the current management led by Chairman Mutiibwa Henry of mismanaging the market which has lead to congestion of vendors.
“Mutiibwa who was appointed by the KCCA, has not organized any single meeting for us whereas he just keeps on demanding for wages from us.” One of the vendors stated.
Usafi vendors through their association known as Usafi Market Vendors Association said that they want Kamya to help them elect new leaders who can cater for the market and the vendors’ needs.
However, Lwanga James the chairman of KCCA markets said that KCCA cannot change the chairman as the vendors want.
“We are the ones responsible for changing the management not the market vendors.” Lwanga said.
