President Museveni has read Gen Kale Kayihura a riot act.
Museveni who was addressing mourners at the home of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi made serious statements pointing out gaps in the security.
“Police, clean your house. In the case of Kagezi, evidence as to who murdered her was available but you did not act”, he said.
President Museveni said Police and some of the other security forces have become a problem.
“I follow all these murders. There are always clues as to who murdered. But some of the security forces are infiltrated.
Museveni went ahead to accuse police officers of sabotage. He said, “They leak information. When you report, someone will inform the persons you have reported even before you leave.”
He added, “You get a situation where some of the witnesses are intimidated, others killed! Police is infiltrated by criminals.”
A disappointed president said, “As a result, members of the public with clues to the murders fear to report what they know to Police, they all want to see me.”
He concluded by telling Gen Kale and his force to pull up their socks. He however had a tougher indictment.
“Police, clean your house. In the case of Kagezi, evidence as to who murdered her was available but you did not act”, he said.
